Will my diving certification be recognised world wide ?
YES absolutely, both PADI and RAID are recognised worldwide. In addition to this, they both have mobile apps which allow you to store your certifications on them so that you always have them with you.
Am I paying to pass a course and achieve guaranteed certification
No, you are paying for the opportunity to attend a certain amount of training course sessions on agreed dates. You only achieve certification once you successfully pass all of the required skills.
I didn’t quite pass all of the required skills what do I do now
No problem, sometimes it takes a little more work to get to the required standard. It's simply a case of booking additional training sessions until you pass the skills comfortably and competently.
Can I get a discount for booking multiple courses at the same time
Our courses are priced realistically and as such we do not offer discounts. There are some very specific courses which can be bundled together for a saving compared to booking them separately, an example would be Open Water and Dry suit if done at the same time.
Can we buy equipment packages specific to the course we are doing from you
YES definitely. We have standard packages which are based on kit we use and know works well for particular courses and it is all equipment we use ourselves. These packages normally meet a persons requirements but we can tailor them as needed to ensure they match perfectly. An example could be slightly different lengths of regulator hose or drysuit hose for a more comfortable fit.
Do you do Junior versions of courses
We advise the minimum age on all courses as opposed to advertising a course as normal or junior.
On the date of certification if the student is under 15 years of age they would get the 'Junior' version of it.
The courses themselves are identical although there may be some minor restrictions on them such as depth or who may dive with them.
Once the student reaches 15 years of age any limits they had are automatically lifted and they can if they wish purchase a replacement card without the word 'junior' on it although it is not mandatory.
Additional costs for training courses
Standard courses - everything except the following is included:
- Travel to or from a dive site / pool
- Entrance or membership fees of a dive site
- Any gas fees other than standard air
- Food or drink at a dive site
Technical or Rebreather courses - everything as per 'standard courses' plus also the following is excluded:
- Kit hire fees for any kit you don't have
- Scrubber cartridges
Divemaster courses - everything as per 'standard courses' plus also the following is excluded:
- Divemaster Crew-Pak - P.O.A.
- Dive equipment - this is a professional course, you really should have most if not all of your own equipment. We offer deals to assist with this while on a divemaster course.
- HSE Yearly Medical upon successful completion
- PADI Yearly Membership fee
Platinum level courses include everything except any transport, accommodation or medical fees for the 'standard duration' of the course.
If additional training days are required then this would be charged at the appropriate day rate for the type of course which is being run including courses booked at Platinum level. Technical or rebreather courses may have additional gas / scrubber fees.
Do I need my own dive equipment
We provide full equipment needed for all recreational open circuit training courses we teach with a few exceptions as listed below:
For Advanced Open Water (or equivalent) and any specialities, you must have your own mask and snorkel. We also highly recommend your own dive computer.
For Rescue Diver courses or above you also need your own fins and dive computer.
Divemaster, technical and rebreather courses have their own equipment requirements and as such you should have all of your own equipment.
If you don't have some of the required equipment please speak to us as we may be able to provide hire kit or put a kit deal together for you.
Will we use a dive computer on the course
Yes, all of our recreational courses include the use of a dive computer as standard. You can even purchase the computer used on the course at a discount.
Technical, professional or rebreather courses have their own computer requirements (multiple, mixed gas etc..) and students on these courses would be expected to provide their own.
